This is Ruby's third litter. She has her puppies naturally and is a very good mama. She is pictured here on August 8th. |
Bugsy
Bugsy is a beautiful blue fawn in color, with a blue mask and ears. His fur shimmers like velvet in the sunlight. Bugsy is very sweet and loves to snuggle, pressing his body as close as he can. He also loves to wrestle with Matilda. She squeaks and that makes it more fun! Bugsy's ears are up, he is such a late bloomer! Bugsy has moved to his forever home in Liberty, MO.
Sasha AKA Bella
Sasha is blue fawn, with blue mask, ears, and back. She has white feet and white markings around neck and on her underside. Sasha is the calmest and most reserved of the litter. She always hangs back from the fray, but loves to eat and nearly topples the dish. Sasha has moved to her forever home in St. Louis, MO., and is now known as Bella
Hershey AKA Fido
Hershey - This little guy is red and sable in color, with dark mask, ears, and feet. Hershey has a nicely shaped white marking on his chest. He is pretty laid back and sweet. Hershey is getting to be a real chunk, he is rapidly gaining muscle mass and wrinkles. His head and body is going to be shaped like his sire, Chip. September 14: Hershey has learned to "speak" to me with a little growl and a wuff. Hershey has moved to his forever home in Orange County, CA., and is now called Fido.

Gilbert AKA Nacho
This sweet boy is pied: red, with black mask, ears, and tail. Gilbert has white socks and underside. He is the biggest clown of the litter and tries to bounce and bat at his siblings. Gilbert has moved to his forever home in St. Louis, MO., and has the new name of Nacho.
Linus
Linus has a beautiful dark fawn coat that shimmers silvery in the light. His mask, back, and tail are black. The tops of his toes and backs of his ears are blue. He has a pointed white marking on his chest. September 3: Linus has both ears up! Linus has moved to his forever home in West Liberty, IL.

Clancy AKA Jack
Clancy is red with black mask, feet, tail, and ears.. He has a small white marking on his chest. Clancy is my little angel, and loves to snuggle. He would be perfectly content to be a lap dog. His antics crack me up, being little gives him maneuvering advantages over the others, and he can bounce like a bunny.
September 9th: Clancy's ears are up! Clancy has moved to his home near Hartford, CT. He reminds his new owner of a jack-o-lantern, and Jack is his new name. Matilda/Staying at

Puppy Notes:
Caring for Ruby and her puppies has been a wonderful experience, from the time of birth to the present day (Sep 7). Watching this litter grow and change in appearance, from their sweet tiny ears and toes, to the way their fur color has morphed, is a lot of fun--and work! Trimming itty-bitty nails, mass puppy bathing (ever bathed eight puppies at a time?), cleaning out their pen, watching them wobble on little feet. Each week is brand new and they each have their own little personality, they have learned their names, and how to bounce. Ruby is beginning to wean them, I supplement her feeding reduction with a milk replacement product, and keep a bowl of puppy food and another of water in their pen at all times.
Everyone asks how I can bear to part with any of them, at first, I didn't know--I am so attached and each one is my "favorite". However, since I have met each puppy's adoptive caregiver, I can say that I can let them go to their forever homes with joy. Each new family already loves their new baby, through pictures, phone conversations, and texts. There's nothing like puppy love.
